When treating wooden floors with FLOOR SOFT SOAP, a protective coat of soap is formed which dissolves when the floor is wiped with water. One soft-soap treatment is sufficient for 30-50 wipings. The floor's colour will fade more and more over time as it’s wiped with water.
Oak is particularly prone to becoming pale, as the oxalic acid in the wood reacts with the soft soap. A dark-brown to black surface appears, which is then wiped off with water.
Apply FLOOR SOFT SOAP using a wide brush. Move from saturated areas to areas still absorbing soft soap. Proceed until the whole area is saturated, then remove the excess soft soap. When the surface is entirely dry, polish or wet-wipe using cold water. When it starts to become difficult to remove dirt, scrub the floor clean and let it dry. Apply soft soap as described above.
Keep in mind that FLOOR SOFT SOAP dissolves linseed-oil paints and attacks aluminum.
Soft soap dries out the skin. Use gloves when working with soft soap. Mind your eyes, as the soft soap is a potent irritant.
