Can I paint with Selder's linseed oil paint when I'm pregnant?
Yes, it works great because of our very low solvent content.
Do I have to dilute the linseed oil paint from Selder?
No, it should never be diluted and is ready to use and finished in the jar.
How do I clean my brushes after painting?
With our Linseed Oil Soap in concentrated form.

Why does the surface become flaming when I paint with linseed oil paint from Selder?
There are various reasons for this – the three most common are:
1. Priming before priming on highly absorbent surfaces has not been done as recommended.
2. The paint has been applied too thinly and/or unevenly.
3. Painting has been done in a damp room with poor air circulation, or moisture has got onto the surface before the paint has dried.
How long is it between strokes with Selder's linseed oil paint?
24 hours in favorable conditions, ie 20 degrees and a dry room
What pigments does Selder use in color reproduction?
We use synthetically produced iron oxides and other metal oxides, all of which have the highest value for light fastness and UV resistance. All pigments are non-toxic with the least possible impact on humans and the environment.
What do you do with twigs before painting with Selder's linseed oil paints?

Yes, therefore all rags etc. wet before they are thrown.
Do Selder's linseed oils have to be heated to 130 degrees?
Yes, otherwise the product loses its best properties.

What is the approach to a classic shed floor with Selder's floor soap?
We offer a soap treated floor and not a scrubbed floor as it is a completely different method.

Should the floor be dry or wet when soaping a floor with Selder's floor soap?
It must be dry. If the floor is wet, the cells in the wood are already filled with moisture instead of the soap it should be filled with.
Can the decking be primed with Linseed Oil Soap/Floor Soap?
No, it is water soluble. But the trolley can be washed off 1-2 times a year with a very good result.
Is Celery Linseed Oil food approved?
Linseed oil is a completely natural product and Selder Linseed Oil is non-toxic. It is also not possible to approve linseed oil for food. That being said, it is perfectly fine to use Selder Linseed Oil on cutting boards and countertops.
